mp3 | shannon and the clams | ozmo

recently re-released via burger records, shannon and the clams' "ozmo" is back in full rotation. boasting the same rock-a-billy sound we've grown increasingly fond of in recent months, the oakland natives and shangri las-influenced beach rockers have managed to carve quite the niche for themselves.  "ozmo" serves as a testament to the bands inherent ability to write and perform immediately endearing and charming tracks.  an undeniably addictive and equally cathartic hook anchors and simultaneously carries the jangly, pop-rock and when shannon convincingly croons "oh, i --i think i love you," it's impossible to believe otherwise.  check out the stream above and be sure to snag the (right click, save link as) download here.

mp3 | shannon and the clams | gremlins crawl

released late last year, "gremlins crawl" represents the most recent work out of oakland, california's indomitable shannon and her clams. back in 2010, shannon and the clams released their debut full-length - in cassette form - i wanna go home, with the following year seeing their topnotch followup, sleep talk. steeped in the surf-rock sounds of the fifties rockabilly explosion, the band conjures readily evident influences in the form of familiar groups like the beach boys and the ronettes. lo-fi, garage-pop rooted in the style of the overwhelmingly nostalgic fifties can only yield the best of results. check out the stream for "gremlins crawl" above and snag the (right click, save link as) download here.
