mp3 | black milk | sundays's best // monday's worst
curtis cross, the detroit, michigan native has been in the game for the better part of ten years now, working with industry fat-cats the likes of slum village and j dilla. growing up with the hip hop of the late eighties and early nineties, black milk's production often employs the same timeless, dirty snares and crisp hi-hats of his predecessors. however, while remaining true to his roots, cross won't hesitate to throw out what he knows to explore relatively progressive territory, delving into polished, synth and otherwise electronic production. his diverse and encompassing skill-set makes him versatile and invaluable in a genre flooded with gimmicks and tired formulas. "sunday's best // monday's worst" represents some of his most recent solo work in quite some time and is entirely deserving of a stream. don't miss the (right click, save link as) download here.
