mp3 | owl fly south | blink (incandescent days)
there's a lot of "vintage" garage rock floatin' around these days - some better than others. owl fly south, the four-piece janglers from los angeles (ucla, specifically), however, have placed themselves squarely alongside the better half of their contemporaries. deftly melding rock and roll with elements of psych and sixties pop, the guys are able to create a sound that's familiar and comforting, but fresh in its arrangement and delivery. "blink (incandescent days)" represents some of the young bands earliest and best work. employing a healthy amount of echo, reverb, steady drums and guitars that seamlessly transition between delicate and fuzzy, owl fly south manages a track that easily warrants a stream. grab the (right click, save link as) download here.
